Construction

When you look for the perfect coffee grinder, you look for quality materials, a sturdy build, and durability. This Timemore Manual Coffee Grinder’s cylinder is made from space-age aluminum with a black walnut base – providing the quality and sturdiness of a well- designed and manufactured coffee grinder. With sharp steel burrs which are produced by a 5-axis CNC machine for a high grinding efficiency, you are likely to have a consistent and perfect results even after 1000+ grinds. Accessories

In terms of accessories, this Timemore Manual Coffee Grinder is rather limited. This probably puts it in the mid-high range of the manual grinder category (there are much more expensive manual bean grinders), but considering the quality of the design, materials used in manufacturing, and the perfect consistency of the coffee grind, it represents good value for money. Cheaper coffee grinders are available but will probably struggle to match durability and performance of the Chestnut G1.

Warranty

According to Timemore’s website, the Chestnut G1 Grinder comes with a standard 1-year warranty which includes manufacturing defects. As per normal warranties, this excludes damage caused by human error or damage caused through neglect of the coffee grinder. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What are the main differences between the G1 and C1?

With the C1, you’re likely to only get, on average, a 20-gram grind, whereas, with the Timemore Chestnut G1, you should get a consistent 30-gram grind. This means that with the G1 you get a larger grind with less effort than is needed with the C1 to produce the same amount. For the C1, the knob, the scale switch, and the inner part of the bottom container are made of plastic. However, for the more premium G1, the scale switch is made of steel, the knob is wood, and the internal container is Aluminum.

What’s the interior of the bottom changer made of?

The exterior walnut look is purely for esthetics and the interior of the Timemore Chestnut G1 is made from much more practical, top-quality aluminum, with the burrs being made of premium steel.

Would the G1 be good for making Turkish coffee?

The Timemore Chestnut G1 might not be the best option for Turkish and greek coffee, but it can do the job. Turkish coffee requires an extra fine grind. Most people usually grind their espresso at 9 or 10 clicks, however for Turkish coffee made in the Chestnut G1, you could try 7/8 clicks, but may need a grinder capable of finer.

The last drop

You simply can’t beat freshly ground coffee and it is certainly miles better than store-bought pre-ground coffee which begins to lose its true flavor as soon as it’s ground in the factory. With the Timemore Chestnut G1 Manual Coffee Grinder, you get an award-winning, lovingly and beautiful crafted coffee grinder.
